I’m Madeleine Brissenden, a graphic and motion designer. For me, design isn’t just how something looks - it’s how it works, how it communicates, and how it connects.
About me
That ethos has shaped my journey throughout my BA in Graphic Design (First Class Honours) at Arts University Bournemouth (2025). It was key to shortlisted for a Cannes Future Lion award for Slant, my idea for an AI-powered intelligent font system that exposes bias and misinformation and connects to credible sources.
During my placement year as an Intern Designer at IBM, I worked across AI, Cloud, and Software projects, contributing to everything from UX journeys to motion graphics and accessibility. I learned to trust the power of simplicity - not as a shortcut, but as a natural outcome of thoughtful ideas. I earned IBM’s Enterprise Design Thinking Co-Creator badge and Champion Gold Learner status.
I’ve developed a belief in design as a force for good: socially engaged, human-centred, and research-driven. Whether animating, prototyping, photographing, or exploring ideas through research, I strive to balance the beautiful and the useful. I believe that great design doesn’t shout; it speaks - clearly, directly, and with integrity.
